Recalls for KTM and Husqvarna Motorcycles – the recalls affect motorcross bikes from both manufacturers.

A recent run of motorcycle recalls has continued with KTM and Husqvarna being the latest motorcycle manufacturers affected.

KTM has advised that “Due to variations in the spoke manufacturing process, some spokes on the front wheel may exhibit quality deviations. Depending on where they are fitted in the wheel, care and spoke tension, it is possible that individual spokes may break while riding.

“This can overload the remaining intact spokes and consequently break them.”

Hundreds of KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles are affected by the recalls.

Affected models are the 2016 125 SX, 150 SX, 250 SX, and 2016 250 SX-F, 350 SX-F, and 450 SX-F sold between 1st June and 22nd December 2015.

Owners are advised to check the list of VIN numbers here.  If your motorcycle is affected, you are asked to take it to an authorised KTM dealer to have the spokes replaced in the front wheel free of charge.

Meantime various Husqvarna models are affected as well. These models are the 2016 125 TC, 250 TC, 250 FC, 350 FC, and 450 FC sold between 1st July and 23rd December 2015.

The list of VIN numbers of affected motorcycle can be accessed here. Affected bikes should be taken to an authorised Husqvarna dealer for repair.
